I shall kill myself. There will be no point watching rugby anymore.

It will genuinely be the saddest day of Irish rugby for quite sometime - And that's saying something.

Presumably by diving onto your head from a height of 6 metres?

Do you remember that time when he picked up the ball on the run and ghosted past Ntmack in Paris.

Best player of his generation.

Will be a huge loss for Leinster and Ireland. Girve retiring was bad enough, I expect a national holiday.

Is it likely he will return from this injury?

I felt the same when Michael Jones retired,

then Ritchie McCaw turned up.

Yes he will return to lead Ireland to a victory over the kiwis and also to captain the lions one last time. The greatest player to ever represent Ireland and the dominant rugby force of a generation

NOT TROLLING:

But what did he really achieve? No notably World Cup progress, not great success with the Lions and not a great track record of touring the SH.

First grand slam in many decades, numerous Triple Crowns, wins over Australia and South Africa.

For an Irish player. HEC Championships, ML wins, Grand Slam.

It's a great haul. Can't expect wins in the SH or great World Cup campaigns., It's not a one man game.

It will be a sad day for sports commentary. The thought of his unintelligible mumbling every time Ireland controversially loses to Wales is not a good one

Consistently one of the top two in his position for a decade.

Yeah, but he didn't 'win' anything...and, literally, any fool knows that in a team game, you personally have to win stuff to be considered any good.

I always wondered why George Best was so good when he played for MU and so shite when he played for NI, I mean his shiteness can be the only reason NI didn't feature in a major finals.

No doubt one of the best players of the last 10 years, massive hole for the irish to fill, their other center options are pretty wank imo.

Fair enough.

He was also the player who really helped popularised Rugby in Ireland this past decade. A superb player, also the highest try scorer in 6 Nations history, Heinnekin cup victories, Irish dominance over English Rugby and a number of superb tries in critical situations. You don't have to win much if season in and season out you produce wonderful game winning performances.
