I'd agree Fester, and I'd also question the various schools development of the young people under their care.

Which I suppose ids why the schools want to cut the cancer out.

Pranks? Yes they are normal all over the world, in private schools, State ones universities....

Frat initiations...

I don't know enough about this incident to properly comment.

I'm referring to the Irish poster who said that these kinds of stories come out every year in Ireland.

He meant that the stories are commonplace. Kids act the cunt. When it's the rich kids then the papers take the story and run with it, fabricating shit in the process (see my comment on the first page of this thread).

THe incident in the OP, as reported, is clearly too far and the poor girl suffered. Any indiscretion is seized on by the tabloids in particular so that they can run another spoilt rich kids misbehaving story.
Every summer there are stories of 18 year olds on holidays after finishing school getting hammered in Greece or Crete. Every year the stories carry the same connotations of these guys having attended fee-paying or privileged schools.
It's pathetic really from the papers.

It is a ritual in which one student every year is sacrificed to the the God's of Dellcoatl and Intelquetzal- it is hard but fair

It's the truth. Put no limits on young people and they'll turn into crazed savages.
Laugh off the incident described in the OP and you're giving encouragement for them to go another step further next time.

BlackMac I would take this story with a health warning- every year the Irish media run a series of stories about spoilt rich kids making pricks of themselves. It started after a young lad died when he got punched outside a nightclub during a fracas. This particular girls story is story number 5 of this particular 'rich kid' season

Fair enough, I actually meant some of the bigger kids on here who still see this sort of thing as harmless fun. Once they have children of their own they will understand the feelings this sort of thing can provoke.

i was wondering myself if i felt so strongly about this due to having a kid but on further reflection i know that even a couple of years ago and pre kid i would have found this shit behaviour ; i was lucky enough in that the class i was in in school didnt tolerate bullying ; i remember one new kid to the school tried to pick on this harmless poor bastard in the class, got a few slaps and a warning and that was the end of it.

In a thread full of stupid posts, that is by far and away the most stupid.

Congratulations.

First we have the blasé attitude to bullying in schools.
Then we had the shameless trolling of their valiant but limited opponents after the HEC final.
Now we have the same posters trying to justify booing the match officials at rugby matches and blaming their defeat on a multitude of excuses.
It's been a bad week for ladyboy fans.

It is criminal. "Prank" my hole. You'd love to see charges pressed there.

When did everyone turn into such a nerd :?

I'm all for a bit of a prank. That's not it though. Little girl tied up, distressed etc? You need to know your audience.

Quite, why on my last day I hid the white chess pieces, needless to say chaos ensued.

TBF it's been worse for you I would have thought. No team of your own to support for 2 weeks and resorting to trolling posters who are trolling.

No trolling from me.
I just speak uncomfortable truths, such as predicting last week that Leinster would choke three years in a row.

Binge, Nolanator and myself have all been amongst the voices criticising this. It's only DD and Mitty, one of whom spent his formative years in the most homoerotic place in Ireland who seem cool with it, and they're both trolls. And good ones at that too.

Haven't read the whole thread but throwing eggs was a popular thing in Melbourne (probably still is). I thought it was a cunt act for school leavers to drive around in cars that they are just old enough to drive in and throw eggs at innocent bystanders. I even saw school students throw them on the train back from work at a blind man who was standing near the doors minding his own business. No one said anything to them.

Latent gayer in trying too hard. :P

I didn't realise that Clongowes had that rep, although I never really paid any attention to all that inter schools shite. We were tucked away in the countryside and missed most of that.

Larks aren't scavengers and in any case what was a shallow grave to you would probably be quite a deep one for a lark.

I suspect it was mainly the foxes and crows that got him.

I'm pretty sure it was the larks that told us to do it. But then perhaps they had their own reasons...

I know. I had a cousin who went to Clongowes. We don't like to talk about it much.

He makes up for that though. They all do.
