Latest news I have seen has Boris 108,000 votes ahead but with two seats left to count, but that Ken is expected to close that gap by only 30,000

quite relaxed actually - im much more interested in the news that chelsea have bid for battersea power station :P

plus I have just seen Ed Milliband gurning on the BBC news and am reassured that this mid term result will mean he is retained as labour leader!

As mentioned before it's definitely Boris - most journalists who would know (via Twitter) have said so and a person I know who works for him has also said on Facebook.

Yes, Ed is an ugly fucker.

Predictions that Boris may be a lame duck at City Hall if Labour and Lib Dem members (are there any?) come together to block his budget plans.

A woman in Bradford on BBCnews 24 earlier saying she voted Labour, her mum always voted Labour and told her to. She was easily in her 70s. Bloody hell.

Ken lied about Boris, he was a hypocrite over his tax issues, his key policies of tube reduction and EMA allowance he can't deliver on, he has corcodile tears at a staged video but like sheep people have voted for him.

I wish we could move away from party politics and perhaps then we'll start getting more MPs etc who have the job because they deserve it rather than because of sheeple voting along party lines when there's actually bugger all difference between them.

I dont think it will come to that but a couple of big hitters/mouthy cunts have been turfed out of City Hall, that would have been on his side.

Lib Dems look to be the 4th party in London now - x100

Looking at the votes cast so far, only about 1 in 7 Londoners chose Boris as their first choice to be Mayor, same for Ken (though a bit fewer obviously).

That for me is the big story, people don't care, politicians ignore them apart from election time, manifesto's are works of fiction and they're all the same so why bother.

Always makes me larf when Boris criticises the RMT if they don't get a mandate from more than 50% of their members before going on strike.....

Good to see the BNP do absolutely nothing again.

No councillors at all across the country, Mayoral candidate bottom of the list by a stretch.

Hopefully they do poorly in the London wide results too.

so possibly Ken makes a gain here, and narrows it on second preference too?

It' close.

Apparently they've suddenly 'found' two more ballot boxes in Brent

I hope the North Korean observers are paying close attention.

THey need to stop postal votes unless you are confirmed as bedridden/infirm or can prove you're abroad.

They ignored us during this election too in my area.

Mind you any coverage seems to be why the other cunt is a cunt and not what that cunt can do for me

They don't bother with my street either. It's a Labour area, so why bother. But I think in 2006 they finally got sick of Labour and elected Lynne Featherstone Lib Dem, 2 years ago labour fielded a union stooge. There's a lot of shitty areas in the constituency, Labour cut youth services by 75% but they still get away with it. Sheeple will still say though that Labour looks after the poor. That must mean the councils senior staff are poor because they're certainly looking after themselves.

And all this with a 30% turnout...

At the general election I went to my polling station (which is opposite my house) only to be told that I wasn't allowed to vote because I was listed as a non-EU citizen. I explained this was highly unlikely given that I was born in the UK and there was no such indication on my polling card, and they ummed and ahhed and decided that despite the fact this was all very odd, I had to go to work and call Lambeth Electoral Services when they opened at 9.30am.

So I went to work, called Lambeth who said that of course I was eligible and a UK citizen, and I should go back to the polling station and call them from the polling station if there were any more problems.

I went all the way home from work, got to the polling station, and the tellers said "Oh thank goodness you came back. We looked again after you left and realised we were reading the wrong line of the roll."

Huh?

Edit: Sorry, I did use the word 'confirmed', so I will rephrase to "official confirmation by the returning officer within 20"

London Elects, the organisers of the poll, have said two batches of boxes of papers that were mistakenly put away in storage, are causing the delay.

They say in a statement: "The issue was identified during the verification stage. These two batches are being re-processed. To make this happen as quickly as possible we have separated out into several smaller batches. This is why the progress screens appear to show a changing number of verified ballot papers.

"We will declare as soon as possible but it is obviously important that every vote is counted."

Why would someone put a locked ballot box in storage. They're wired shut when transported, it's obvious whether it's an processed or not box. :?
