If the old bored wasn't being kept there's plenty posters might havce kept with the changeover coming. But we were told that it would available in a read-only format. So what's happening?

Lino, there was some chatter about the old bored having been overwritten/erased, not sure if that's official or not. Poor form, if true.

Poor form to muck it up if true (I'd also question how the hell that could happened) and again not to tell us.

As I said, I have loads of threads bookmarked with various bits of info that was handy to have, some very - I definitely would backed up the information in some manner if I'd know there was any risk.

Is there anything actually better about the new bored from a user's point of view, other than the search function?

I like the fact that you can click on next page and have it track how many messages I've read without having to go back to the home page each time.
I like the fact I can log in from multiple devices without being logged out from the other (work pc, home pc, phone).

No real idea. It does mean a couple of my protagonists can avoid my posts.
