I like Oona, but Ken won an overwelming majority over her when labour voted for who would run. Livingstone is also a political legend in london, as an independent he defeated the Labour party at it's peak in a Labour City. Oona lost to Ken within the Labour party by a fucking massive margine (Ken got something like 67% of the vote). Heck in the 1997 Labour landslide, in one of the few newly Labour MPs whose constituency had a swing towards the Tories and then she managed to lose it from Labour 8 years later.

Basically there is no evidence she is capable of beating Boris, Livingstone is a political machine, can gain publicity where many others can't, he knows how to bring out his vote in London and has proven it and really excuted every trick in the book to damage Boris, but still couldn't beat him. Oona has repeated failure in getting votes for herself, even in safe labour seats, all history points that she is a vote loser if anything, she would have not beaten Boris.

Boris Johnson is an unique Outlier, an exceptionally popular personality and has gain the respect of having virtually no genuine criticism of his abilities now as mayor,he's popular, well liked (even with Labour voters in an era the Torys are unpopular) and proven to be capable of the job. Oona has a rather poor record of losing even guaranteed labour votes.
