I'd have thought a bit more respect would have been in order towards the only team still playing for a french and european trophy doublé. ;)

That shouldn't detract. They kept Beauxis wasting his time on wood for years whilst playing Skrela and Flaky ahead of him.

If SF aren't going to use him, I hope he gets the hell out asap and not waste his career like Lionel did.

I think it was 6 teams , but only SF and Racing were authorized to play for the title.
To finish about " histoire du Rugby "
The refere was Charles BRENUS and a guy named Reichel was playing.

So what? That only means the SF staff is idiotic for playing that Warwick clod instead of him.

The kid is obviously talented and at only 20 he has plenty of time to develop into a fine player.

 It was some time before the title was allowed to be contested by sides other than from Paris.

TNT. It just annoys me. When they were in Elite 2, Mourad made lots of noises about making sure half the team was French.

Well, he's still making lots of noise.

And take friday's XV:
Emmanuelli - Orioli - Kubriashvili

Samson - Schofield

Gunther - Van Niekerk (c) - Armitage

Tillous-Borde (m) - Wilkinson (o)

Smith - Giteau - Messina - Palisson

Lapeyre

Granted 8/15 isn't exactly 50%, but you'll find it's not necessarily on the wrong side of it. Yes, it's slow to happen, yes the seasonal turnover is frightening, and yes, he'll continue to buy abroad, but it's serious mauvaise foi or cheap cliché to pretend there's no french player at the club.

And next season we'll even bring Michalak back to France.

If the weight was so important, our (Les Bleus) scrum would be really shit. I would rather have a team of Shame Williams than a team of George North.

If he can run, I do not mind our props to be at that weight!

the dude has played what 4-5 games of top 14? I'd like to have faith in a bright future too but I don't think the national squad is the best place to get potential good players tested.

the same goes for Plisson IMHO, why would we get a young player, however talented he is, in the national squad before he imposes himself in club? And BTW what of Belie, Nakaitaci, Gunther and those young talented players that also qualify and do play regularly in club?

edit: There are rumors PSA wanted to try Mermoz at 10. Very unlikely now he moves to RCT I hope...

It's a shitty end of the year tour where France will play Argentina's B team. It's the perfect opportunity to test promising young players.

Nakaitaci (ASM) does qualify for France AFAIK.

Also, why not send a proper squad, get these players some time together and - try to - explode the pumas?

Because most of the seasoned internationals will be busy with the Top 14 finals.

This. On 2 counts. 1 that Dje points out and the other being at least the youngsters might be trying.

I know that the squad is announced at the end of May but do they leave for the tour before the Top 14 has been settled. Any dates?

Top 14 drags (sorry but as it started way back in August it now is beginning to!) on until June if memory serves me correct.

Otherwise I agree, in general, we have enough talented players to only take exceptional poaches :P

Matadigo is off to Racing but Tulou was the starting #8 anyway...

Apparently, Doumeyrou wanted a little bit too much money for his age, didn't please Galthié.

I don't know where you read/heard that , but in midol he said this year he didn't play enough and with Camarro & Hape coming he was not sure about is game time. Also he think that SF might be helpful for a step to EDF . The only mention of € was about SF paying back his " formation " toMontpellier .

Watching the game at the moment. Biarritz scrum is taking a right pasting. Is the Montpellier front row 100% foreign?

Jengti - Creevy - Figallo / Georgian - Argentinian - Argentinian

The young THP on Biarritz side is struggling big time.

Doumayrou is lucky to still be on the pitch, his late and dangerous tackle on Bosch was a disgrace.

Rucks are a mess, 100 of offences at each ruck.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes and yes.

That was a real spear and he'll miss the rest of the season for it.

Reffing at ruck remains a farce.

He wouldn't say publicly that he left Montpellier for the money. But from reading his interview you could feel it was the main driver.

Although the Montpellier scrum took the upper hand 5m from their try line, I think the ref was to quick to penalise the Biarritz one for unbinding, when Ouedraogo was quicker to unbound.
