yaaaa go north! , oh and the north island players playing for the south as well. This could be one of the most interesting random selection of players vs another random selection of players trial games i have seen since since since hmmmm , i was going to say a business house game i played in a few years ago but guess in that one we were all representing our own areas so the result had some meaning.

IF the score blows out one way or the other in the first half i wonder if they will shuffle the teams up at half time

I'd much rather a Super Rugby Dirt Trackers team take on the Heartland XV.

... wonder if Steve Tew has asked Rutledge to have a scrap with someone from the North for a bit of faux-Origin biffo.

Based on this year's selection criteria of which S15 franchise they play for, or proper teams?

If Slade were fit you'd probably find him slotting in at fullback.

I seriously can't find myself being remotely interested in this.

Call me a shit rugby fan, but apparently it is'nt even from their clubs origin.

The team that will win will be the one stripped of less ABs

Kind of got my point arse around face. I meant it is pointless as one team will have more ABs away. Not how many are left.

But admittedly I may have phrased it shittily.

A game with everyone from their first club origins would be better than the ones left out of the ABs who play for a certain S15 team.

For me personally and I would imagine for the players, she is a bit pointless

Could someone please give us the score update please?

Can't find a stream anywhere, plus I am wanting to watch Manny fight.

Cheers in advance.

A vey surprising amount of intensity and one of the most entertaining games I've seen all season. There was also obvious signs from players and fans that it's a clash they could invest themselves into.

If the NZRU managed and marketed it correctly it could be a must-see match each June.

Rutledge and Leonard were at each other's throats. Then Leonard spear-tackled Rutledge. Shortly after Coles and Rutledge squared up that led to an all-in; the highlight of which was Filo Paulo bending down from 6' 6" to smack a horizontal Donnelly in the mush.

I mysky remindered this match but I couldn't get downstairs to watch it. I was going to watch it for the novelty factor.

If this match brings back the biff, I think I'll get interested in it pretty quick. I'll look out for a replay.

RugbyDump will have the scrap in a day or two. It was very evident that there was a fair deal of meaning out there. The NZRU weren't interested, the rugby public weren't interested but those playing certainly were.

Good game!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you haven't watched it, you should do!

Robbie Robinson was the Norths best, while Leonard was fiesty, and looked more like the half he can be. For the South, while Kurt Baker was really good, Kendrick Lynn was outstanding, and looks to be playing his way back into the Landers starting lineup. The South pack was just too good for the North, with Jason Rutledge a pest as usual. Luke Whitelock was interesting in that he 'got there' a lot, but then didn't do much more ????

The fisticuffs were "old school', but Paulo delivered a cheap, dirty shot on Donnelly. Even in the old days that wouldn't have been tolerated, and he will probably get a good holiday as a consequence.

This game should be a 'State of Origin' type game imo.

I don't know why the kiwis don't have this one year with all players available and hype up the rivalry. Could be a highlight of the rugby calendar.

Leonard, Coles, Lynn & Paulo all cited. I'd be very surprised if Paulo plays SR again this season.

Well that's the last time this fixture is going to be played. There are going to be some words said by a few S15 coaches...

Disappointed to hear that the NZRU well and truly fucked up this game. It beggars belief that they could fail to tap into the age old North vs South Island rivalry? This NZRU board really are the most useless governing body in world sport.

It is a shame, but hopefully they will make it into a proper North vs South game, the passion seems to be there for it to be a success.

AC is dead right! This was, and can be again, something for players and fans alike to really get into, but it MUST be on the basis of origin surely? It was certainly easier back in my day, when the players never moved around, but still, if it can be based on either your secondary schooling, provincial debut, or such, twould be great!

North halfback Brendon Leonard, North hooker Dane Coles and South centre Kendrick Lynn will face no sanction after their wee trip to the judiciary today after their efforts in the North v South match played Sunday.

North lock Filo Paulo, was cited for an alleged punch on South lock Tom Donnelly, will have his turn in the naughty boy chair tomorrow afternoon.

How do you think he'll get on?
