There is no reason for us not to win if we played our best team! Ryan Jones has shown his class at 8! without sounding like a broken record I would include Hibbard too. Yes! osprey heavy but they are on form

I don't give a fuck as long as it gets the result.

Wallabies have almost no chance. They are going to get whacked. Not enough Rebels. Not enough Reds. Not enough Brumbies. Not enough Forcers.

Idiot selectors know nothing about the game.

Looks about right. Beck should start, but I'm not surprised that he won't if that is the team. Interesting with going with the two Ospreys lock, but not unsurprising though.

The team that should finish the game should be:

Halfpenny, Cuthbert, Foxy, Beck, North, Hook, L Williams; Gethin, Owens, Adam, Ryan, AWJ, Lydiate, Warburton, Tipuric

I think we've dropped a bollock by not having Rhys Webb on the bench. He always had a good connection with Hook and is made for impact on dry tracks and lots of scrappy rucks.

He either starts or doesn't play, in my view. He offers no impact or ability to change a game. He's more of a pattern setter with a nice clearance kick and quick pass.

Last week was crying out for Webb to take the ball across the Australian defence when it broke up.

Again, I do not believe that Scott can be recovered. He was KOd. Like a Tyson victim. And he's supposed to be on his game to play a SH team away from home a week later? It'll end in tears. Beck should start.

WOOHOO! That's the team pretty much everyone would have picked. We all knew that Warburton wasn't going to be dropped...but Beck in the midfield, AWJ in for Charteris, Ryan Jones to 8, and just as important in my eyes, Hibbard, Tipuric and Webb on the bench, players who can genuinely bring impact to the field.

Cheers, I think I'll try and get there before the game. It looks like it's a short train trip from the stadium.

Good selection. We need to give the Shackledraggers a thumping this weekend. No excuses.

Happy with the Welsh team, certainly prefer ashley Beck to scott Williams at 12, though pleased he has been retained on the bench to cover 12 and 13.

Prefer Matthew Rees at hooker and best of all Tupiric is there as an option.

The Sam to 8 move was never going to happen in my book, Robyn McBryde was just having a bit of fun, which if you read Twitter is all he is doing at the moment.

Oh and I like the Rhys webb on the bench move, in fact they are all good positive changes.

I'm sure REFRY will find it in him to have a whinge. A few West Walians will probably have a pop as well, the miserable Gypo-supporting twunts.

Me? Happy as Larry. Can't argue with that team. Shit or bust as far as I'm concerned. No excuses.

Looks good. Beck deserves his chance. Will we see him defending @ 13?

Despite Hibbard's form, I didn't think Owens deserved to be dropped from the squad. Injury perhaps.

I also thought Ian Evans would have sneaked onto the bench instead of Girafe boy.

Personally, although I like Owens, I think Hibbard is just about the better player. Owens has the better darts, but Hibbard is a much better ball carrier. Hibbard's problem is that he can drift in and out of games, but he is the very essence of an 'impact' player...Hibbard going 10 to the dozen for the last 20 will definitely bring a lot of impact to the team.

I too thought Evans might have made it, but on reflection, Charteris hasn't done anything particularly wrong...but I do believe we're starting with what should be, on paper, our best lock pairing.

This is key, our lineout functions pretty well with Owens. If our lineout goes to shit (Rees' throwing in has been terrible recently) then Hibbard isn't necessarily the person to steady that particular ship. Rees and Hibbard are better scrummagers and close in carriers but Owens is superior in the loose.

I guess my point is - Rees/Hibbard + Owens gives you options and flexibility. Rees + Hibbard have the same strengths and weaknesses.

Wrote this before the match last week

Quote:
Wales should win this but that of course means the sum total of fuck all.
Could'ha Should'ha Didn't.
C.S.D is far more apt badge for us than "WRU".
Aussies will believe they can win, expect to - to us winning in the Southern Hemisphere is built up so much in our feeble little minds..it feels like fantasy. Where as the Aussie expect to win in practical clinical and scientific terms ..we fantasise and dream..a mindset as fragile in it's nature as it is damaging.
They got this - we will have lots of advantages which we won't be able to use, frustration and Rhys Priestland and await some inevitable mental flapping rob howler - Gareth cooper in the last six minutes type decision.

Could'ha Should'ha Didn't.

Pretty much spot on and same again this week I reckon.

Beck deserves his chance but still not sure about him in defence. Good call to drop L Williams as he brings sweet fuck all. Hibbard wrong call as he cant hit a cows arse. Also.. would rather Evans on the bench instead of clateris
