50 partnership for the 3rd wicket.

Come on West Indies! I'd like the game still to be vaguely competitive come Saturday.

83 for 2 at lunch then, decent enough start for the windies, still think I'd have batted first

Unlucky that one I thought - hawk eye doesn't account for the ball swinging more after contact. Reckon that was out.

trott coming on, sheesh, its day 1 of the first test, give pam another couple before tea, this just gives them a bit of respite when they're looking to the break

This one has got Disaster written all over it - Chanders will grind out his inevitable ton and then our batsmen will continue their less than convincing county form and we'll be skittled out.

The only consolation will be to read the correspondents, who were all predicting a comfy win for England, describing the humble pie they're eating.

Doomed, doomed, doomed. It's back to the 90s.

Couple of quick wickets and all of a sudden Windies are 187/6 and they have a bit of a tail - if we could just get Chanders - he's very used to batting with the tail - could still post a decent score.

I have a feeling that this summer we will mostly be bowling at chanderpaul...mostly. was it last time he was here that we just couldn't get him out while the rest of his team folded around him.

good bowling from borad with the second new ball has kept us pretty much in charge but we need the last wicket quickly. reckon 300 is a decent score given the overhead conditions, so we don't want them getting much closer.

I don't know what their no.11 is like but after watching edward's bat last night I wouldn't expect too much from him

I can't believe Swanny didn't review that LBW decision against Chanders. Broad reviews one that misses by six inches and they don't even talk about reviewing one that is plumb.

Borad tends to review everything. There must be stats somewhere for players who have wasted the most reviews. I reckon Borad would be right up there

Morne Morkel is always begging for a review. Smith/Boucher have to shut him up regularly.

I agree, if for no other reason than it was chanders and they had 2 reviews left. I don't have a problem with borad wanting to review everything, he's a fast bowler who should be charged up, its up to the keeper and captain (who's stood at first slip) to filter out the sense of the situation and make the call, a bowler always thinks he's got his man

charmed life for trott, keeper appeals for a ct behind, bowler doesn't so not given, hotspot shows an edge.

been tough going after lunch, ball moving around a fair bit.
