I thought this because iirc when Cullen does get the ball he is behind where cave and kearney are.
So somehow the ball got moved on from where Cave was.

Just watched it again there, you are right, Cave popped it up to Tom Court as he went to ground and Court took it on a metre or two, either carrying or knocking it. It appeared that Cullen had either caught the knock on from Court or ripped it from him on the way to ground. Either way it looked to me like he might have had the ball going to ground and as such was entitled to get back up with it. Must admit it's pretty unclear but Owens was the best placed to see it if it was what occurred.

Edit: Looked again at a slo-mo and Cullen didn't have it going to ground, looked like Court had knocked it though. Arguably an early tackle from Cullen and he should have got to his feet to pick the ball up.

I was nearly sure Cave had popped it up. Did Cullen tackle Court and the ball spilled as they went to ground. Ball spins out so quickly to Cullen the ref probably missed it. I think Cullen still needs to get back to his feet to collect it though.

That's pretty much exactly what happened, it either spilled or he ripped it. Owens must have thought he'd done so before or as he went to ground. I think that he hadn't, but completed the rip / picked up the ball on the deck. Penalty offence, but probably a knock on first by Court. I don't think it was an early tackle, man and ball.

I saw the replay of the HEC final, then later on saw a replay of the rabo final. It reminded me of that time we won the European cup twice in a row.

Or are we nor doing this anymore?

We'd do well getting it up to 100 pages using that technique, especially with the higher post per page on this site!

I'd need a go ahead from the nordies first. It's alright to make a 100 pager when you beat a pigdog team, and when the gloated at half time, but doesn't seem right doing it to our brethren.

True, we don't want to rub it in their faces. Most un-gentlemanly behaviour that would be.

Indeed, most unrugger like.

Everybody, please post your opinions on this dilemma. I rate we thrash this out.

Yes, I think an in-depth and well debated discussion is warranted. Even if we all agree we should assign certain posters to argue the other side. In great detail. Just for completeness, like.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm considered an outsider to some of my Ulster comrades

Excellent idea.

I'm of the opinion that discussions are key to resolving differences in life.

Dragging it out would be most unfair on the Nordies and the Free Ulster fans.

It's a shame Toulouse couldn't be arsed against Edinburgh, because they'd have made the final much more competitive than Ulster did.

Ulster had a great tournament and deserved to be there. They hammered Leicester, beat Munster in Thomond, beat Clermont at home and got a BP at the SMM.

In the final they (in my view) took a bit of a chance with a young lad who wasn't quite ready (but shows a lot of promise). And we were very good I thought, I think we would have beaten Toulouse.

Fairly porous alright, probably just in awe at Shaggy's hair and the general Leinstertainment of the occasion.

Can't really blame them TBH. I was delighted that Shaggy got a great reception in LR2 in the QF. Hero.

On the other hand, they lost twice in the pool, had the fortune of Aironi to boost their total and played shitty little Edinburgh in the semi. They're not an elite team.

Not too many people do what they did this season, I think they are very good. With a good 10 they would be top tier in Europe for me, a lot is going to depend on what Anscombe is like next season.

You don't get to a HEC final easily.
