Tbf to Sexton, it is easy to see why there is such a disparity of opinion on the guy due to his relative performances for Leinster and Ireland. Occasionally with Leinster, particularly in high-end European matches which would be approaching Test intensity, he has played like he is comfortably the best 10 in Europe.

For varying reasons (some would blame the tactics of Declan Kidney) he has never approached that level of performance for Ireland. So, opinions on the guy could vary hugely depending upon a person's rugby-viewing habits.

It's not bullshit. Take a Kiwi or an Ozzie whose only real exposure to him was the WC. They would think he's decidedly average. Overall, his performances for Ireland have not approached the levels he has achieved for Leinster.
