I might come to this if I can convince myself that meeting a bunch of strangers on the internet isn't weird.

I won't bring any ladyboys though, I'll just be happy on Craig.

Farva: if you're awake and sufficiently sober to post, I have clearance to attend the match, if you haven't booked tickets yet and you're still looking for company. Bear in mind that it's in the Etihad so we'll be miles from the pitch and my specs need replacing so I'll spend most of the game saying "what just happened".

If you're up for it just say what tickets you're interested in. I can go for any of the categories.

Needless to say, I'm up for caballing before and after.

K, I have not yet bought tickets. But am still keen. No internet at home at the moment but I shall stick up my email tomorrow and pull it down once you have it.

Mat and l Ron are you keen for some game time?

Clogs, there is a Pieface not far from Etihad hence you will be sorted, are you keen to come along? There is the added benefit of being able to sledge EF on his bench management first hand.

Any others?

OK, alternatively Dumbers and EF have my email and phone nos so if you've got either of those then they can pass it on.

Alas I am not doing bench management for this game, I will be out there a couple of times but not doing anything official so I will be able to watch the game from the sideline.

I'll not be at the game with you lot, but certainly keen for some pre-match beverage consumption.

Do you have a defence against the dark arts exam to study for?

Pretty sure exams will be done by then, should probably check that though. Nah, I'm going with my old man.

A quick run down of the Melbourne Cabal Crew
EF - Ref know it all, probably the most knowledgeable on rugby in town. By far the highlight of the Melbourne Crew.
Dumbledore - Hipster dude but apart from that he is exceptionally normal.
karahi - Typical ex-pat, spends a lot of time saying how cheap beer is.
Clogs - Not as fat as the pie eater should be, nice enough guy for a Saffa.
Stu - Alright for a Kiwi, is off studying a lot for work.
Ogre - Met him for 5 minutes and seemed nice. One of the quieter ones of the Cabal it would seem.
Farva - Good guy, very fun. Got weird mates though.

Other posters:
Tuesday_Morning - Seems alright, sits close to where I do most of my work.
J Man - Good poster, hopefully will make his debut soon.
sim_in_mel - Thinks he is funny but he isn't.

If you think about it, the internet's far weirder if you don't ever meet the people you're talking to. :)

He would although he says we couldn't organise a piss up in a brewhouse so until we get better at organising I think he is a no show.

I will be going to the game as well with my old man.

Definitely in for any pre or post game caballing action. I suspect I will be keen to get out amongst it on the Friday night as well.

Turn this cabal into a carnivale. :)

I will be keen for a beer or two the night before, although I may have a schoolboys game in the morning as I don't think I will be able to get in a premier grade game in the arvo and still get to the ground to do my other duties.

Bump for Clogs: Farva and I are arranging to get some tickets. Are you interested or does your "99% there" translate into pub attendance only?

I basically act as the referee and match official chaperone for when they are in town. Getting them to the ground etc, also means I get to be 4/5 or waterboy for the super rugby games which is a great learning experience for me.

It also means going out afterwards for a few drinks with the boys which is always good and fun.

I am interested mate, what $ value tickets are you getting? I am into Blue Fin season at the moment, so if I get a window of good weather I may be a last minute withdrawal, and am not keen on spending a hunjy on a ticket only to not be going.

Farva's having a look. We're pretty relaxed about where we go - as it's Etihad chances are that most of them will be shit in some sort of way for a rugby match. I had a look on ticketmaster and didn't really understand when they were going on sale - there are different times depending on whether you're a registered Wallabies supporter or a member of the general public. General release is Sunday I think. I'll leave that up to Farva for now...

If you need a "my rugby admin" number you can use mine, I won't be needing it as I am not buying tickets to the game.

The officials, I find they are more down to earth than the players and at the end of the day are just rugby fans.

Awesome, so the post match cabal is with all the match officials. Should be a blast. Do I bring along the iPad loaded up with video of all their cock ups for further discussion/analysis, or would a smaller iPhone screen suffice?
