Well don't post crass, profanity riddled personal attacks if you don't want people to question your upbringing. Act your age.

So you agree with me that the problems at the Blues are multi-faceted, and that Pat Lam is not solely to blame? Wonderful. So glad you finally came around to my way of thinking.

I have given up flogging that dead horse that is the Blues.....backed them for weeks against the odds and they have let me down everytime.
Now that I am backing the Canes, I suppose the Blues will pull off a shock win

Foolish to lay the blame solely on Lam.

Last year he was one win away from winning the NZ Conference. If he was such a bad coach surely such a result simply would not have been possible? Sure Kaino and Mealamu were fit and in form, but he didn't have Weepu or Nonu in his squad. Those additions basically cancel out Kaino and Mealamu's absence. And remember Toeava was injured for much of last season too, so the sudden decline in form can't be attributed to his loss either. The Blues issues are a combination of poor coaching, out of form players, a RWC hangover, injuries and a general lack of confidence throughout the organisation.

Dumb post. The addition of Weepu and Nonu can never, ever cancel out the loss of Mealamu and Kaino.
A winning team is only the sum of all it's players. Playing together, for each other.
With confidence, yes, but also with enthusiasm, which tends to drop off after being brutalised every week.
Stick to rimming your Crusader posters.

What a hateful, overtly defensive post. And as usual, you resort to profanity and base personal insults. Sad to see someone so poorly raised.

My point was a simple one, you cannot simply blame Pat Lam for everything that has gone wrong at the Blues in 2012. I'm not sure how any sane person could. Sure they have lost some good ABs, but they also recruited better than anyone in the comp. Also, keep in mind that Mealamu has played the majority of games this season

Agree - the Blues demise is a combination of things. A rugby perfect storm.
Crap coach, crap board, out of condition players , demotivated players, out of form players , crying coach, poor selections, poorly located ground, injuries, fans who think John Banks is an honest man, Auckland, past it players, traffic jams, dorklanders, inbalance between races, tattoos and racial tattoos, politics, mark hammett, westies, shortland street, and poor gameplans.

Blues have been really shit this season and will end up in a sword fight with the Lions for the coverted wooden spoon.

Steve Tew has today told Pat Lam to shape up or GTFO, telegraphing the NZRU's decision to cut him loose at the end of the S15.

He's very likely going to lose again tonight, so that would make it 7 losses on the trot. Can't really see how the Blues will beat the Hurricanes tonight.

Knock over Taylor every time he gets the ball and don't let Barrett run in the last couple of minutes of the game. ;)

The Blues need to target Barrett's often turnstyle defence big time. They could also try exploiting his annoying habit of jogging back into the defensive line from the breakdown with his back to the action, by immediately sending the attack back his way.

But being the Blues, they won't.

Some skip balls past nonu would be effective as bateman really rushes up to close nonu's space.

Well that's us stuffed then... :uhoh:

Playing as favourites at home does not sit well with us. Hurricanes play best as the plucky underdogs.

Good player is young Barrett, I like him. (Potentially could be the best 10 in the world) :P

The battle between himself and Hobbs ( No potential to be the best 10 in the world) will be interesting, I would have liked to have seen Anscombe in this game but not to be.

Hurricanes by 1

the ongoing quest saga to find a pub in Adelaide that will show the game with sound on a Friday evening continues, the Rosemount has been ok if inconvenient but one of my kiwi mates has convinced the Brecknock hotel, an Irish pub 10mins from my place, to let us have the sound on and I believe they do cheap imperial pints, woohoo!

Me too. I made the point a while back on another thread, that I often enjoy games which don't feature the Crusaders more than games that do because I have no emotional investment. I can just sit back and enjoy the rugby. I'm an emotional wreck for Crusaders games, especially if the scores are close.

Like last weeks game against the Tahs, enjoyed the win but didn't enjoy the game too much, way too close at the end.

Yep, it's a win-win game for me, too. There are some intriguing match-ups from an ABs selection perspective - Faumuina and May; Eaton and Williams; Savea and Ranger...

I thought I was going to be physically ill during that final 10 minutes, especially when the Tahs were awarded a penalty, and had a lineout 35 metres out from our line. Way too close for my liking, and the Tahs were coming home confident and with a wet sail.

Watching at home, I tend to yell, scream, and curse when 'my' team is playing but am relaxed and conversational in matches like tonight's

My wife still struggles to understand the emotional stress (even after witnessing my state on 23 October 2011)

Really looking forward to Eaton vs Williams. Hansen will probably pick four locks for the Irish series squad and Jason Eaton has a great chance to secure on of those berths with a strong performance against Ali Williams.

Do you reckon May's got a serious chance? If persistent injuries hadn't wrecked his last couple of seasons I think he may well have been capped by now.

I thought he was going to make the 2009 EOYT, but injury struck before the squad was made and he's never really had a look in since. At his best he's a better prop than Ben Franks, but he's got to play consistent, injury-free footy. Steve Hansen was talking about the need for two ambidextrous props in squads in a recent interview. Pretty sure he'll pick two props who can play both sides to complement Owen Franks and Myth, and if that's the case then May is in with a real chance this season of getting a test cap.
